Merry Go Round is an episodic documentary series from Columbus, OH filmmaker Trevor Hock about villagerrr and the behind-the-scenes reality of being a rock band in 2026. It's rad.
Episode 1:

We're on a Team

In this first episode, the villagerrr gang kicks off the new year by filming two music videos, "Locket" and "Swimming", before they depart for their first tour of the year with Ratboys. We get a peek behind the curtain of director Trevor Hock's creative process and watch the band nearly freeze to death in a terrifying shed. It's a hoot.

Episode 2:

Down in Dallas

Episode 2, lock in. The village band is in Texas, Boone (from Teethe) has joined the party on guitar, and Alex from Skirts sings an unreleased track. And, of course, they hit up Buc-ee's. This episode features versions of "See" and "Indiana" from Club Dada in Dallas, TX on March 27, 2026.

Episode 3:

Lone Star State of Mind

Look, everything is bigger in Texas, yada yada—it's annoying, for sure, but it's also true. That's a big ol' place and Episode 3 finds us hours from the border in the state capital: Austin. The Ratboys tour continues with a blowout show at Mohawk, and Zack Wiggs, the pedal steel prince of Austin, hops on stage to join the crew and bang out awesome versions of "Neverrr Everrr" and "Tear Your Heart Out" on March 28, 2026. Tap in, y'all.

Episode 4:

Albuquerque

Look, you gotta give props when they're due: Bugs Bunny owns the word "Albuquerque". It's all I think of when I hear it. Albuquerque. Rolls off the tongue. But it's a real place too, a big ol' city on the banks of the Rio Grande. In Episode 4, the village band are deep on the road, a thousand miles from home with the desert breathing down their necks, playing in New Mexico. Are they starting to crack? Or is that just them opening up? Are those just two sides of the same coin? Who's to say? Regardless, they play an amazing cover of "Albuquerque" by Neil Young. You're gonna love it.

About the Director

Trevor Hock is a videographer based in Columbus, Ohio.

After moving to Columbus in 2022, Trevor quickly realized that there was a rich DIY music scene that needed to be documented. It didn’t take long for him to meet Mark Scott and Zayn Dweik from villagerrr. The project was in an odd transitional spot, with it being just the two of them. Since then, he has continued to document the music scene, as well as the growth of villagerrr, as they continue to gain a bigger audience outside of the midwest.
